Structure of the course and the lessons
1. What is the structure of the i-Structure course?
This lesson is the first in a series of three lessons that describe the format of the course and lessons for the i-Structure course, and the way to prepare the lessons.
- Structure of the course and the lessons (this document)
It is important that the structure of the course remain mostly constant throughout the entire course, so that students are not exposed to changing approaches and presentations. Of course, this does not mean that the individual style of presentation of the authors needs to completely disappear.
The main points of the i-Structures course as identified by the project team are:
- Intuitive approach and understanding of the behavior of structures
- Wide use of graphical tools to foster creativity and intuition
- Example-based course structure, which always relates the material to actual cases
The structure of the course and the lessons proposed in this document are thought to be conducive to the realization of these points.
